ValueOptions New Mexico Adopts Standardized Substance Abuse Assessment Tool

Newton, MA and Albuquerque, NM (PRWeb) February 21, 2007 -- Inflexxion, Inc., ValueOptions New Mexico, and the New Mexico Department of Health's Behavioral Health Services Division today announced a statewide initiative to deploy the Inflexxion ASI-MV® and the ASI-MV Connect™ Data Center to behavioral health service providers throughout the statewide ValueOptions Network.

"This remarkable tool, available at no cost to providers, thanks to funding from ValueOptions and the Department of Health's Behavioral Health Services Division, gives clinicians an immediate and in-depth report highlighting potential clinical issues with which to assist their clients.

The confidential, self-administered ASI-MV® streamlines the substance abuse intake process, enabling counselors to quickly assess and more efficiently focus on their clients' recovery needs. Domains assessed in the ASI-MV® include: alcohol and drug dependency levels, medical, employment, legal, family/social and psychiatric issues. Clients are able to use the audio-video program regardless of their reading ability, or prior computer experience.

In addition to allowing more efficient and standardized administration, the Inflexxion ASI-MV® provides substance abuse facilities across the state with access to the Inflexxion ASI-MV Connect™ Data Center. Clarkson noted that the Inflexxion ASI-MV Connect™ Data Center enables DOH-funded providers to gain immediate access to detailed aggregate data about the population they serve, and plan accordingly, in a way never before available. "This information will be invaluable for grant-writing, strategic planning, and program development that addresses the most pressing needs within their individual communities. The ASI-MV Connect™ Data Center will also help providers, and the entire state, track how well we are doing in treating substance abuse," added Clarkson.
